The very much anticipated Barclays Center Arena, known to some as “Brooklyn’s Madison Square Garden,” has finished construction and is now open. Construction began March 11, 2010 and was completed September 21, 2012 with a Jay-Z concert being the first event held on September 28, 2012. Brooklyn now has a multi-purpose arena that can hold around 18,000 fans! As if that wasn’t enough, if you aren’t able to get tickets to the event inside, you can see all the excitement on the display screen outside. The screen loops around the inside of the 117 ft x 56 ft “Oculus” that extends over a 5,660 square foot section of the plaza which resides in front of the main entrance. Working alongside Hunt Construction Group and the architect, AECOM, SC Railing Company provided approximately 25,000 linear feet of ornamental railing to complete the Arena.
