• The aluminum base shoe was top mounted to concrete on the landing, and mounted via weld studs to the metal stringer on stairs. The 3/4” glass was affixed using the GlassNut™ dry glaze system with a pressed in black gasket to finish off the look.

Trex Commercial Products provided Track Rail, a structural glass base shoe railing system, on stairs and accompanying overlook. This project utilized the GlassNut™ dry glaze system which features a threaded setting block affixed to a simple locking nut securing the 3/4” clear tempered glass infill within the base shoe. A black gasket pressed into the shoe conceals the GlassNut and finishes off the look of the system. This method provides a fast and cost-effective alternative to traditional wet glazed systems.
