Kansas State completed both the Vanier football complex, and North end zone expansion utilizing custom ornamental railing. The Vanier complex showcases Base shoe glass railing, aluminum handrail and steel guardrail. The football stadium expansion utilized aluminum Classic picket style railing, custom mesh drink rail, glass base shoe railing and custom glass gates.
Since 1968 Bill Snyder Family Stadium has served as a home away from home for generations of Kansas State University fans. Following a recent $52 million renovation, the stadium is attracting new generations of Wildcats fans with amenities that have revolutionized the gameday experience. The stadium’s south concourse has been completely transformed into The Shamrock Zone, where fans can enjoy permanent concessions, video boards, additional restrooms and a new 13,500-square-foot club space complete with a kitchen, lounge area and plenty of seating and tables to enjoy food, drinks and friends.
Trex Commercial played a key role in this project from concept to completion, providing 3,867 linear feet of custom fabricated railing. Football fans will find the company’s custom engineered picket, mesh, glass, cane, drink rail and more throughout The Shamrock Zone’s main concourse, suite level, office level and southeast viewing terrace.
Faced with an extremely tight deadline, the general contractor for the project, JE Dunn Construction, needed suppliers that could execute in time to ensure football fans would be able to enjoy the updated space for the 2021 football season. Trex Commercial proved to be an MVP.
“In addition to delivering high-quality railings that enhance both the safety and aesthetics of the stadium, the Trex Commercial Products team provided complete visibility throughout the process – from design and coordination to fabrication and installation,” said Chris Ryan, project manager with JE Dunn Construction. “We always knew the timeline for the project which gave us the ultimate confidence that their team was on top of the scope and the project was on track.”
“Having a team that can confidently take on a complex and fast-paced project and deliver quality results on-time and on-budget, all while navigating a global pandemic, sets Trex Commercial apart,” said Laura Rygielski Preston, president of Trex Commercial. “We are pleased that JE Dunn took notice of our team’s attention to detail, timely execution and dedication to customer service.”
In addition to Bill Snyder Family Stadium, Trex Commercial also designed and fabricated railings for the neighboring Bramlage Coliseum at K-State where FMHR and picket railing can be found guiding patrons throughout the west and east entrances of the arena. Once inside, glass and multi-line Guardrail in addition to WMHR can be found outfitting the north concourse stands.
